WIMBY (What's In My Backyard)

2008

I designed mock-ups of several online policy projects for Gotham Gazette's Knight Foundation grant application. WIMBY (a play on Not in My Backyard) was one of my favorites.

I visualized each idea by thinking through user pathways, creating information hierarchy, allocating page space. These sketches offer a sense of page layout, hierarchy and navigation.

The project used mapping technologies to inform communities about environmental waste in their neighborhoods. Visitors could add their own sites to the map and also engage in research on environmental waste and pollution in general.
